Dental Crowns

Welcome to Holmes Dental, your trusted family dental practice committed to providing comprehensive dental care. We’re happy to offer our patients dental crowns, a versatile and effective solution for restoring damaged or weakened teeth. Our experienced dental team utilizes advanced technology, including CEREC crowns, to deliver precise and efficient crown restorations. Let us guide you through the process of dental crowns and explain how this innovative treatment can improve both the functionality and aesthetics of your smile.

What are Dental Crowns?

Dental crowns are custom-made caps that cover the entire visible portion of a damaged tooth, restoring its shape, strength, and appearance. They are recommended in various situations such as tooth decay, fractures, large fillings, and cosmetic enhancements. Dental crowns offer several benefits, including improved tooth strength, protection against further damage, and natural-looking results.

Introducing CEREC Crowns

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, a cutting-edge system that allows for same-day crown restorations. CEREC crowns offer several advantages over traditional crown procedures, including convenience, accuracy, and reduced treatment time. We use digital impressions, computer-aided design, and in-office milling to create precise and customized CEREC crowns on-site.

The Dental Crown Procedure

Getting a dental crown involves several steps. First, our dental team will assess the condition of your tooth and discuss the crown treatment plan during the initial consultation and examination. Next, the affected tooth is gently reshaped to create space for the crown.

We then take digital impressions of your prepared tooth using advanced technology for precise crown fabrication. The digital impressions are used to create a virtual 3D model of your crown, which is then milled in our office using CEREC technology.

Finally, the custom-made CEREC crown is carefully placed and bonded onto your prepared tooth, ensuring a secure and natural fit.

Benefits of Dental Crowns

Dental crowns offer numerous advantages for patients. They improve the strength and durability of damaged or weakened teeth, allowing for normal biting and chewing. Crowns are designed to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, providing a seamless and natural appearance.

With proper care, dental crowns can last for many years, providing a long-lasting solution for tooth restoration. They also cover and protect compromised teeth, preventing further damage and reducing the risk of tooth decay or fracture.
